Paladins open beta (PS4) – First impressions

It’s been a while since I did a post about games, huh?

A while back, I asked for suggestions for F2P games, and Hundstrasse suggested Paladins. Because our gaming PC is usually occupied by my better half, I decided to sign up for the PS4 closed beta. After a while, I got a code, but for some reason it wouldn’t work. I’ve been playing Smite in the meantime, and I really like it, but now that the Paladins open beta is out I decided to give it a shot right away.

So, with a new game comes a time with training modes. From what I see so far, I’m going to be in training for a while. I need to get used to it, and not suck as bad as I do now before I play “for real”.

Now, I’m not one to write long and detailed reviews, but here are the first five thoughts I had after starting the game.

  1. I really need to change the controller sensitivity. I just can’t live with this really high setting. Seriously.
  2. Ooh, horse! This is fun.
  3. The sofa is too far away from the TV for this kind of game. Any kind of game, really.
  4. What happens if I press this button???
  5. That went….well.

In other words: I like the game so far, and I’m sure exploring it further (and knowing what I’m doing) will be fun.
